about sunflower

Rocha web design is a small design and development group based in Seattle, Washington specializing in handling the visual communication needs of your business, organization or artistic endeavor. Founded by Gene Rocha, Principal Web Designer and Rebekah Rocha, Photographer and Graphic Designer, we have a passion for design and feel that strong visual communication is key in any sucessful business

For over 3 years, Rocha Web Design has been helping local Seattle businesses, non-profit organizations and artists succeed in their marketplace by effectively presenting their message to their audience. We do this by being a part of the local business and artistic community ourselves and by utilizing the same communication tools we share with you to compete in our visual and technology driven lifestyle.

services

Rocha Web Design understands that visual communication services play an instrumental role in achieving the business goals of your company. We also understand that you are investing in us and are expecting a return on that investment.

We also believe each business needs a unique strategy to help them succeed in the market place. A well presented design will help you stand out from the competition, and a successful business in today’s world relies more and more on a well developed and user friendly website.

the process

Many web sites I design include a combination of static and dynamic pages. Dynamic pages are data base driven pages that you (the client) can edit or change, making a site you can update as your business grows.

Designing a website is a process that evolves as we work together. Collaboration and communication are key in developing a site that does what you want it to, and does what it needs to do, in a seamless, creative and efficient manner!

Each website design project can be broken down into a series of stages. Every step is important and influences the direction of the site design.

  1. Proposal
  2. Site Map
  3. Wire Frame
  4. Visual Design (up to 3 rounds)
  5. Style Guide
  6. Proto Site
  7. Bug Testing
  8. Site upload onto client’s server

Site Map

Example site map

A site map is a visual representation of the web site’s structure.

It displays the information contained in the web site as a diagram in a hierarchical fashion.

Wire Frame

Rocha Web Design Example Wire Frame

The wire frame is a storyboard of the entire website, indicating where photographs, headlines images and text will be located. The wireframe is important in order to make sure there is design consistency throughout the site.

Visual Design

Rocha Web Design Example Visual Design

The Visual Design is a layout of the website with all text, images, photographs and other information in place.

Color, fonts, type sizes, image placement and other visual design concerns are addressed at this stage. The visual design is the spot where creativity and functionality blend.

Style Guide

The style guide is a visual information doucment that list the global elements and graphics of the entire web site.

Proto Site

Once the visaul design has been approved by the client the visual design will be converted in to xhtml and will live on the rocha web design server until the client has aproved it. Once the client has approved the proto site the site will be moved over to the client’s server space.
